***Introducing: Victoria's Food Trail! TV program***

A new TV food program is set to showcase some of Victoria's best produce, 
beginning this Saturday on Channel 7.

The Food Trail, sponsored by DPI, is a six-part television series that 
takes Victorians on a journey around the State, hosted by self-taught chef 
and epicurean, Paul Mercurio.

The program celebrates Victorian producers and the quality, abundance and 
diversity of the food they produce. 

Paul Mercurio visits regions and gathers local produce to take to local 
restaurants where guest chefs create some mouth-watering dishes.

>From olive oil and cheese, to rock lobster and lamb ? The Food Trail 
series showcases the wonderful fresh local produce that Victoria produces 
every day.

**This Saturday 18 February will mark the first episode of The Food Trail, 
airing on Channel 7 at 5.30pm.**

To support viewers and promote provincial foods, DPI has also produced The 
Food Trail website at www.dpi.vic.gov.au. The site will be live on 18 
February.

The series profiles six Victorian regions, including: 
·       Loddon region, including Daylesford/Macedon Ranges 
·       South West region 
·       Wimmera/Mallee region, including Mildura 
·       Goulburn Murray region 
·       North East region, including Milawa/High Country 
·       Port Phillip and Gippsland region, including the Yarra Valley 

So take The Food Trail journey with the rest of Victoria, starting this 
weekend, and visit The Food Trail on DPI's website www.dpi.vic.gov.au
